AVALANCHE WINES BY OLIVIER ROTEN

A Swiss Wine Project

Olivier Roten is the third generation of his family to manage its vineyard lands and winery, located in the Valais, Switzerland's largest grape growing region. Olivier met his wife, Laine (a Seattle, Washington, native) while both were completing a wine studies program through the O.I.V. (Organisation Internationale de la Vigne et du Vin).  And their love story evolved over a meal and a glass (many glasses) of Swiss wine.

Not long after they were married, Olivier and Laine decided to create a line of wines that honored both their love story and the best of Swiss winemaking traditions. And Avalanche was born. Our Avalanche wines feature several indigenous grape varieties grown in the high-elevation mountain valleys of the Valais region, where Olivier’s family has been tending the land and making wine in honoring the local climate and terroir for many generations.

”To us, our Avalanche wines represent the essence of Olivier’s alpine roots. We hope that others will identify with this classic taste of Swiss heritage… and our ongoing love story with it’s wine."
